Larraul ecomuseum
A new museum concept born from local initiative
After the farmhouses of the town had recovered the heritage of Larraul and the Aiztondo valley, the Eco-museum set about displaying rural ethnographic pieces: layas (short, two-pronged forks for working the land), carts, tools, pots, sewing machines, argizaiolas (intricately carved pieces of wood wound with candle wax typically lit on All Saints’ Day), books, trunks... The museum farmhouse is a living, constantly evolving reality, demonstrating the community atmosphere of the area.
