San Telmo

Opened in 1902, San Sebastian’s San Telmo Museum is the oldest in the Basque Country.

Following renovation work, it reopened its doors in 2011 as a space to preserve the collective memory, an instrument to understand the present time and build the future from its origins. The permanent exhibition reflects the history and evolution of Basque society, and the large format temporary exhibitions focus on the memory and on cultural, social and artistic heritage at home and abroad.
