Txokolateixia Chocolate Interpretation Centre

On show at the centre are some old chocolate pots, grinders, moulds and millstones for grinding the cocoa.

As well as documents, including posters, advertisements, prints and photos with motifs of cocoa and chocolate that will transport you back through the ages in this sweet-tasting time machine. As the eighteenth-century plans and maps of cocoa routes show, the origins of chocolate-making in Oñati go back many years. There is also an abundance of documentation, films, books and recipes reflecting the town's enduring love of the product. It's another of the sweet treasures Gipuzkoa has to offer.
