Hiking

Hiking

The national sport in Gipuzkoa is mountain walking or hiking, either alone or with a group of friends or family.

The region is criss-crossed with over 1.5 million kilometres of marked trails and a million and one picture postcard views. The more adventurous hiker can go off-trail, opting instead for a cross-country route up a mountain or simply from one spot to another. And for those who'd rather stay on the trail, there are hundreds of maintained and signposted routes for every age and fitness level. Just remember to wave as you cross paths with other walkers!
