Santiago Beach

A family beach with a large sandbank, ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Close by, Sorginetxe boasts one of the great Basque surfing waves.

One of the biggest waves on the Basque Coast can be found at Santiago beach in Deba, a powerful, right-hand wave known as Sorginetxe that can reach up to five metres. This is one of the winter surfing experiences that is not to be missed. The area is also ideal for long walks either along the shoreline or on one of the three seaside promenades.
